Dear Readers,

2023 is MARCHing right along…pun intended!

At the Brown household in southern Oklahoma, Mr. B and I are steadily working on new books. He’s on his 12th mystery novel, and I’m just trying to meet all my deadlines. Our son, Charles Lemar, is about to publish his third and fourth novels, and is hard at work on number five. So, if you were a fly on the wall, you would hear lots of talk about plots, POV, and characters.

The Devine Doughnut Shop is out now, and although I don’t have any books coming out in March, there’s plenty more arriving before the end of the year. Thank you to all y’all who have read my books, reviewed them, and told your friends and neighbors about them.

We have lots of traveling planned for this year if our health holds out and nothing gets in our way. Two conferences: Book Lovers Con (BLC); Houston, TX June 1-4, 2023 and Lori Foster’s Reader & Author Get Together (RAGT); Erlanger, KY June 7-11, 2023. Book signings are planned at both, so maybe I’ll see you there!

Then our family is going on an Alaskan Cruise in July. We are hoping to attend the Women’s Fiction Conference in Chicago in September, a reader’s conference in Utah in October, and the Fresh Fiction event in November in Texas. In December we are usually in Panama City Beach during Christmas. Mr. B and I aren’t getting any younger so we figure we might as well squeeze as much out of life as possible.

Here’s wishing all y’all an amazing month.

Until next time,

Dear Readers,

How can it already be the second month of 2023? Seems like we were just celebrating Christmas and New Year’s yesterday. I hope the new year is being good to all y’all, that you are staying healthy and warm. Right now, we’re having a little snow and ice in southern Oklahoma, so we’re sticking pretty close to home.
Lots of things have been going on in my world since last year. One of the biggest things is that I now have a group page for my fans—and they get the news while it’s hot off the press before any other social media gets it, and there are giveaways. It’s a place for my readers to talk about books and visit with each other.

Here’s hoping that 2023 is the best year ever and that whatever your dreams are, they come true!
Until next time,

Dear Readers,

I hope 2021 has been kind to you, that you’ve survived this topsy turvy world, figured out a new norm and have enjoyed reading many books.

A sign used to hang in my hallway that said, “There’s always, always, always something to be thankful for.” It got shoved into a closet when I needed space to hang a family picture, but I remember those words in times like these and count my blessings for one more year.

This has been an awesome year in my work world. I’ve worked on ten projects (new original books, rewritten books and novellas) and had three brand new Italian translations. On December 7, The Sunshine Club will hit the shelves. Sometimes there’s a story behind one of my books, and there is with this one. My daughter, Ginny, and her husband, Bobby, love to go to antique stores, estate sales and garage sales. They had been to a city-wide garage sale and found an old newspaper dated before the first world war. Knowing that I used to work in a newspaper, they bought it for less than a dollar and brought it home to me. Ginny thought I’d get a kick out of the layout and the prices in the ads and hoped that something in it sparked a thought for a new book.

She was right. Right there on the front page was a paragraph about a women’s club meeting—where and when. I immediately saw three little girls forming a club because the boys in their town had one and had put “NO GIRLS ALLOWED” on the door. With the coming of the teenage years, the boy’s clubhouse soon went back to being an old shed, but the girls stayed on for the next sixty-plus years. The Sunshine Club was born while I stared at the article for that meeting more than a century ago.

My wish today for all my readers is that you have an amazing Thanksgiving, an awesome Christmas and New Year’s Day, and that 2022 treats you all wonderfully well.

Until next time, may your life be filed with sunshine and friendship,
